Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Senior Clerk to join the Medical Imaging Clerical Support team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Senior Clerk working in a Medical Imaging department you will:

  • Supervise three (3) to ten (10) designated staff and oversee the coordination of clerical workflow for a designated area within the department of Medical Imaging.
  • Support the Medical Imaging department by:
    • supervising work activities;
    • scheduling and coordinating staff;
    • conducting performance evaluations;
    • reviewing and revising policies and procedures;
    • setting up protocols for methods of operation;
    • coordinating implementation of new work methods and/or systems;
    • troubleshooting Hospital and Radiology Information Systems for assigned area;
    • monitoring expenditures and making recommendations to supervisor regarding budget for designated area as applicable;
    • and performing patient registration and appointment scheduling and other clerical functions as required.

Qualifications

 

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, three (3) years' recent, related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
