Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) provides a full range of general and many specialized acute care services including emergency and critical care, general medicine, general surgery, maternity, pediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, palliative care, chemotherapy, diagnostics, nuclear medicine, and rehabilitative services. A recognized trauma centre, LGH has 268 inpatient beds, eight operating rooms, and a variety of diagnostic services and equipment, and serves a large population in rural and urban settings including the North Shore, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and Mount Currie, the Sunshine Coast and Powell River.
Lions Gate Hospital is currently seeking qualified full, or part time, Hospitalists to provide MRP medical services to acute care medical patients, geriatrics, and MRP care for neurological, neurosurgical and orthopedic patient populations, with consultant support. The successful applicants will become a member of the Division of Hospitalists within the Department of Medicine at Lions Gate Hospital and will be required to participate in an on-call rotation, which is approximately once per week. Both full-time and part-time positions require 5- and/or 7-day rotations. Applicants should have a strong interest in integrating and developing their acute care hospitalist practice within the Lions Gate Hospitalist group. The role includes the opportunity and obligation to teach UBC medical students and R1 and R2 UBC Family Practice residents.
