Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Client Quality Improvement Advisor, Mental Health and Substance Use to join the MHSU Admin team. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Client Quality Improvement Advisor, Mental Health and Substance Use with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Report to the Vancouver Community Operations Director, Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU), supports the Vancouver MHSU program by identifying, analyzing and implementing quality improvement and evidence-based solutions to improve access, transition and coordination of the client’s mental health and substance use care.
  • Support various continuous quality improvement and strategic health care initiatives by conducting ongoing analysis of client health information data from various sources, reviewing client health outcomes and advising the interdisciplinary team, physicians and management on recommendations for improving internal, external processes and client outcomes.
  • Work on key areas of focus including clinical program improvements, EMR standardization and use, and other program initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of quality improvement (QI) strategies to assess, plan and implement the prescribed model of care for the program.
  • Work within VCH’s commitment pillars regarding of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related Health Care, Computer Science or Health Information Sciences discipline
  • Five (5) years’ recent, related experience in quality assurance and/or data analytics in a large complex multi-site organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to draft policies and procedures, develop and implement a quality improvement program.
  • Uses strong statistical skills to analyze data and information including strong knowledge of quality processes.
  • Ability to function in both a long-term strategic perspective and short-term operational perspective by comprehending broad implications of business decisions.
  • Ability to Identify, collect and analyze relevant data and information including industry-wide assessments and research.
  • Practices diligence and care when gathering, maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups
  • Ability to gather, summarize and report information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member, leader, mentor, coach and facilitator.
  • Requires aptitude and proven experience in developing and managing key physician relationships while driving business objectives and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events and to deal with and/or guide others in the resolution of conflict issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications
  • Physical ability to perform duties of the job.
