The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Vancouver General Hospital is looking to hire an experienced anatomical pathologist to join a team of 19 pathologists providing surgical pathology coverage at Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital.
This is a blended clinical and academic position, requiring the successful applicant to have expertise and experience in Gynecological Pathology and administration in order to provide leadership for the Gynecological Pathology service within our hospital and expertise for the province of British Columbia. This is a busy service, with significant teaching responsibilities; Vancouver General Hospital serves as a provincial reference center for Gynecological Oncology, and a training center for Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynecology residents. As well, the successful candidate will cover other areas of surgical pathology based on Divisional needs (including breast pathology, frozen sections and on-call) on a rotational basis. This position will require excellent diagnostic surgical pathology skills, a commitment to resident education and significant previous experience in a heavy clinical practice. The applicant will be expected to work synergistically with the clinical research program, continuing the tradition of excellence in academic Gynecologic Pathology at Vancouver General Hospital.
This position will also be a clinical faculty position at in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Clinical faculty appointments at UBC will be at a rank determined by the Appointments and Promotion Committee of the UBC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
