Status: Temporary Part Time (0.60 FTE)
Start Date: As soon as possible until approximately October 2021
Salary: $36.51 - $45.37 per hour
Hours:

0800-1600

Days off: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and statutory holidays

The Patient Population

 

As a Physiotherapist in the Integrated Hospice and Palliative Care Team you will see:

 

Palliative clients or clients identified who would benefit from a palliative approach to care are followed from admission to our program and along their journey as their needs change.

 

The Nature of your Work

 

Our Physiotherapist is responsible to support clients in 3 settings:
• Acute care 10 bed unit,
• Community care where they would visit and support clients in their own homes
• Hospice care at our 10 bed hospice (as needed).

 

Your work as a Physiotherapist with the Integrated Hospice and Palliative Care Team may include:

 

• Maintaining client’s mobility and physical function by prescribing mobility aids
• Assessing and care planning of transfers and ambulation as needed in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
• Addresses management of specific musculoskeletal impairments like fractures, soft tissue injuries through exercise and pain control modalities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences and two to three years recent related experience.
  • Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).
  • Valid B.C. driver’s license in good standing. Local area requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage is paid.
  • An ability to speak a second language may be required.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
