Status: Temporary Full Time
Start Date: As soon as possible until return of incumbent (indefinite end date)
Salary: $30.46 per hour

0700 - 1500

Days off: Saturday, Sunday, and statutory holidays

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Shift/Maintenance Engineer to join the Plant Maintenance team at Minoru Residence in Richmond, BC. Apply today to join our team!


As a Shift Engineer/Maintenance Worker you will report to the Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance & Operations or designate and operate repairs and carry out scheduled maintenance on plant equipment. Your work will also involve performing moderately complex repair work on buildings, grounds, installations and equipment including scheduled and demand maintenance as required.

Education & Experience

  • Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of B.C.
  • Two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
