Manager, Acute Services, Sea to Sky

Job Description

We are looking for Manager, Acute Services reporting to the Director, Coastal Community of Care (CoC) and based in Squamish Hospital.


The role:

This is an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the delivery of care on British on the care of British Columbia, while living in one of the country’s most beautiful locations, Sea to Sky coastal corridor. As Manager, Acute Service you will provide operational oversight of acute clinical programs in the communities of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. They will play a critical role in linking the portfolio with community health services to address the needs of clients and their families and to ensure a smooth transition from the acute care environment to appropriate community health services. On any given day you will be required to wear several different hats, at these sites everyone must work together across departments and with the community.

Located at the northern tip of a glacially etched fjord on the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by a spectacular mountain backdrop and nestled within a temperate rainforest, Squamish is recognized worldwide for its culture, recreation and incredible mountain lifestyle. 


Squamish is ideally situated on the scenic Sea to Sky Highway between the two host venues of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games: Vancouver, British Columbia's largest city and Whistler, a four-season mountain resort consistently ranked the number one ski resort in North America.


A breathtaking location, combined with a population of 19,893 highly productive people, has resulted in a centre of activity that embraces continual evolution and development. As more people strive for a healthy, safe and affordable lifestyle, Squamish saw an almost 15% population increase between 2006 and 2011.
