Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Electronic Instrument Control Technician to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As an Electronic Instrument Control Technician with VCH you will:

  • Design and build electronic circuits, design and implement solutions to issues and problems and perform fault analyses.
  • Perform skilled work in the installation, alteration, troubleshooting, maintenance, service and repair of electronic equipment and systems.
  • Interpret existing or prepare new sketches, diagrams or schematic drawings.
  • Understand, operate and modify computer software for electronic equipment/systems and building automation systems (BAS).

All work performed on electronic equipment and systems is done in accordance with, where applicable, bylaws, regulations, codes and standards.

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized diploma program in Electronic Technology plus five (5) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Industry and vendor equipment certifications as required.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
