Vancouver General Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the General Hematology team. This position is primarily outpatient-based, including work in hematology daycare and clinic, with potential for targeted inpatient responsibilities. The role is designed to enhance care delivery for patients with malignant hematologic conditions by supporting innovative therapies and addressing unmet supportive care needs.
Key areas of focus include running a new symptom management clinic to support patients with pain, chemotherapy side effects, transfusion needs, and palliative care coordination. The NP will also provide urgent outpatient assessments, manage stable patients on active chemotherapy, and respond to acute issues in the daycare setting. There will be opportunities to assist with complex chemotherapy protocols, with some inpatient involvement. For those interested, future expansion into clinical research—particularly in multiple myeloma—is also possible.
The hematology team will provide comprehensive onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing support. In addition, the VCH NP Department offers continuous professional development, leadership opportunities, and access to the NP Mentorship Program. New graduates are welcome to apply. FTE is flexible.
