Come work as Family Practitioner/General Practitioner with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

 

Family Practice Physician with FP Emergency experience needed for a variety of dates to March 31 2024.

Available dates will be provided upon contacting the Physician Services Coordinator.

Our team provides regular clinic, emergency, and inpatient services under one roof to a combined Nuxalk First Nation and non-indigenous community of approximately 2500 people. No obstetrics required. Clinic support staff provided.

Bella Coola sits in a mountain valley at the end of a long, truly magnificent fjord, on the mainland coast of BC. It is 500 km north of Vancouver and 450 km west of Williams Lake.

Supportive team environment; our physician group is always happy to provide support or review a case. You are never left truly alone! 3 physicians on site per week.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience

  • Licensing:
    • Full or provisional license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
  • Mandatory Requirements:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
    • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
    • Emergency medicine experience
  • Professional Affiliation:
    • Certification or eligibility for certification by the Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) is desired.
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Additional Information:
    • The CARE course can be considered as an alternative for expired ATLS, ACLS, and PALS or NRP certifications
